Dimapur, December 30 (NE): There was a tragic death of a prisoner, Late Shri. Yanpamo Mozhui at Bhandari Village, under Wokha district, Nagaland who was beaten to death by Nagaland Jail Police at Wokha Sub-Jail on December Twenty Six.
In this regard, a notification coming from Prisons Headquarter through Director General of Prisons, after an official enquiry, through an official order, it stated that the following TOG Warders, District Jail, Wokha in connection with Wokha P.S. Case No. 46/19 of U/S 325/326/330/302/34 IPC is under Police custody and also terminated from the bonafide Government Services:

Shri Aronto, S/o Inaho
Shri Arunthung Ngullie, S/o Yikhyao Ngullie
Shri Limachan Kithan, S/o Shipanthung Kithan
Shri Thungchabemo Odyuo, S/o Yanchamo Odyuo
Shri N. Nzanthung Shitiri, S/o Ntonsi Shitiri
Shri Phyubemo Odyuo, S/o Yambemo Odyuo
Shri Nyimbemo Shitiri, S/o Nnio Shitiri.
Shri Limathung Murry S/o Nchunbemo Murry
Shri Zubenthung Ezung S/o Akum Ezung
Shri Elanthung Ngullie S/o Lt. Libanthung Ngullie
Shri Nzanthung Shitiri S/o Nbemo Shitiri.
Assistant Jailer, District Jail Wokha, Head Warder along with 3 warders also has been placed under custody and suspended from their duties with immediate effect, stated in a notification issued on December 28, 2019.
The deceased family with support from others at Wokha had already submitted a memorandum to the district administration recently so as to compensate the family with justice to be delivered as the death occurred due to inhuman treatment with lots of marks on the body found.
