International Kids Film Festival to be held at Wokha on November 30: simultaneously with other places

Dimapur, November 28 (NE): Wokha school students to experience the best of International Cinema for the first time. DICE Foundation and Team Metamorphosis, a non- profit organization along with Beti Pachao & Beti Padhao under District Administration, Wokha have associated to host the first-ever International Kids Film Festival (IKFF) in Wokha, in collaboration with LXL, an education consultant based in Bangalore, India on November thirty at Town Hall, Wokha.

The International Kids Film Festival, conceived by LXL Ideas, is the world’s largest children’s film festival that aims to bring inspiring, meaningful and globally diverse cinema to school students across the world. The Festival will allow kids to experience the magic of cinema where thousands of schools across multiple countries will be able to simultaneously host IKFF during November- December 2019.

Over the past two decades, LXL Ideas has produced over 1000 films for children and youth for it’s life skills program School Cinema. School Cinema is today being used by 700,000+ students in 4 countries. Awarded with 6 prestigious National Film Awards, School Cinema films have also screened in over 150 film festivals across the world. In it’s second edition in 2018, IKFF had travelled to 4000 schools which had reached 2 million children across the world, from India to Tanzania, from Pakistan to France, from Kazakhstan to Qatar, from Nepal to Jordan! And even this year 2019 IKKF had targeted to cover 40 countries, 3 million students, by travelling 9000 schools with 100 international movies.

“A lot of what I learned was from watching movies!” this was what Abhishek Bachchan talks about the importance of this film festivals! And therefore, IKFF has enormous educational potential with an objective to create a learning experience for students, parents and community by taking education beyond the conventional school setting, and with an aim to expose students to different cultures, emotions, ideas and educate as well as inspire them through cinema.

However, the festival would be impossible without the schools being cooperative by sending their students and teachers to participate. The organizers have already send invitation to different schools in town to send at least 100 students from class 3 to class 12 to participate in this unique opportunity for students to watch the best of world cinema. We shall be looking forward to hosting you and your school the greatest children’s film festival.
