Indian Railways suspend all passenger trains stoppage at Dimapur station from May 9th

Kohima, May 08 (NEx): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) informed about the temporary suspension of stoppage for all passenger carrying trains at Dimapur station with effect from May 09, 2021 until further notice.

NFR informed that, this is in view of the rapid increase in COVID-19 positive cases in the state of Nagaland and recommendations from the Government of Nagaland, and that it has been decided to temporarily suspend stoppage of all passenger carrying trains at Dimapur Railway station with effect from May 09, 2021 until further advice.

Meanwhile the NFR also updated on the alternative stoppage for various passenger carrying trains at Bokajan,
Rangapahar, Khatkhoti, Diphu railway station.

It is pertinent to note that NFR has converted 10 coaches into COVID-19 Isolation Coaches for the treatment of COVID positive patients and handed it over to the district administration, which is stationed at Dimapur Railway station.

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 positive cases in Dimapur is alarming. Out of the total 2711 active COVID cases in Nagaland, 1823 cases are reported from Dimapur district alone. 204 new cases has been reported in the district on Saturday, May 08, 2021, Health Minister Pangnyu Phom informed.
