Kohima, February 24 (NEx): The Ikiye-Itovi Youth Front (IIYF) appealed the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Govt of Nagaland to provide at least one ambulance at PHC, Satoi to facilitate public service on urgent basis and provide necessary medical requirements as per PHC capacity.
The Ikiye-Itovi Youth Front in a press statement, said that the Chief Medical Officer, Zunheboto and his subordinates staff for speedy redressal of public grievances raised by the office of the Ikiye-Itovi Youth Front in the matter pertaining to the negligence and absentees of medical healthcare workers under Primary Health Centre, Satoi, Zunheboto district during the emergency, when a Tata Sumo met an accident on Saturday, Febuary 20, 2021 between Itovi to Ikiye Satoi area leaving three persons seriously injured and with another minor injury.
It also mentioned that the Chief Medical Officer Zunheboto, Dr Akaho Sema made a communication to the Youth Front officials and immediately directed the assigned medical health care workers and reached PHC, Satoi on Sunday. Dr. Akaho Sema with his subordinates staff, CMO inspected PHC, Satoi on Monday to check the status and initiated necessary measures in response to the call of IIYF, it stated.
The youth front mentioned that Satoi area is one of the remotest place in Nagaland with least development opportunities which more often resulted in the incidents such as the recent one, wherein people in the region couldn’t avail basic health care facilities at PHC Satoi even during times of emergency and hence facing many untold hardships.
The IIYF in public interest, appealed the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Govt of Nagaland to provide at least one ambulance at PHC, Satoi to facilitate public service on urgent basis and provide necessary medical requirements as per PHC capacity. Further, it assured full cooperation to all the concerned department towards public welfare.
