HPC reviews COVID situation; SOP for returnees/travellers entering Nagaland to be issued soon

Kohima, November 05 (NEx): The High Powered Committee (HPC) on COVID-19 under the Chairmanship of the Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Co-Chairman, Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton held a review meeting on COVID-19 situation in the State today November 05, 2020.

The Principal Secretary, Home informed that the HPC reviewed COVID-19 management and lockdown measures in the State today and in this regard, a revised Standard Operating Protocol (SOP) for returnees and travellers entering Nagaland will be issued soon, it said.

The Hon’ble Minister, Health & FW, Hon’ble Minister, Planning, LR & Parliamentary Affairs, Hon’ble Advisor, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Hon’ble Advisor, IT & ST and NRE and senior officials of the State Government are the other members part of the HPC meeting held today.

Nagaland records 144 COVID recoveries and 57 new cases on November 05;

Nagaland reported 144 recoveries from COVID-19 today, November 05, out of which, 72 patients recovered from Dimapur, 58 from Kohima and 06 from Mon, 05 from Peren and 03 from Zunheboto, updated the Health department daily bulletin. Total recovery tally stands at 8078.

The state also reported 57 new COVID-19 positive cases today, taking the total count in the state to 9,264. Among the new cases detected, 28 cases were detected in Kohima, 26 in Dimapur and 01 each in Mon, Peren & Mokokchung. Active cases stands at 1055.

Out of the 56 new positive cases reported in the State today, 18 positive cases are among armed forces/security personnel, 02 returnees, 31 traced contacts and 06 front line workers, updated the daily COVID bulletin.

Further, out of the total positive cases in the state, 3,995 cases are among the Armed Forces/ Police (45%), 1,666 cases of Returnees/ travellers (21%), 3,151 cases of Traced Contacts (29%) and 452 cases of Frontline Workers (5%).

As per the severity of symptoms, 999 active cases are asymptomatic, and among the symptomatic, 36 active cases are mild, 08 active cases are moderate on oxygen, 07 active cases are severe on oxygen, 02 active cases are critical in ICU without oxygen and 03 active cases are on ventilator.

So far, the State has reported thirty nine (39) deaths of COVID-19 patients. Six (6) deaths of COVID-19 patients are not related to COVID and three (3) death cases are under investigation while 83 cases of COVID-19 are migrated, informed Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department.
