Kohima, May 16 (NEx): The Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland, S Pangnyu Phom appealed all citizens to co-operate and support our COVID-19 Warriors as the State alongwith the nation is battling the second wave of COVID-19.
‘As we entered the second lockdown to contain the spread of second wave of COVID-19 in the State, Minister on behalf of the Government of Nagaland and the Department of Health & Family Welfare appealed to all citizens for your kind cooperation support’, an appeal letter from the health minister said.
Pangnyu also stated, ‘I truly understand the inconvenience that the citizens will undergo during the course of lockdown. However, it is pertinent to mention that the decision was taken after considering the health safety of our people. Now, it is the responsibility of all the concerned citizens to help the Government, the Department of Health & Family Welfare and frontline workers to co-operate in this battle against the Pandemic,’
He added that the first wave was effectively managed through collective effort and commended the contribution and active participation of Health Workers, Fontliners, Civil Societies, Churches, Media, NGOs and all individuals involved along with the Government in our fight. The optimistic approach of our people during such crisis is truly inspiration and motivation to all of us, he said.
Further, Pangnyu said COVID-19 is not over yet and we must all understand that the COVID-19 will remain the new normal. All the citizens must act responsibly as we continue to battle the pandemic,’ he added.
The Minister urged the people who are showing Influenza-Like Illnesses to come forward for testing and also to co-operate with the surveillance teams in contact tracing and said that we must observe COVID Appropriate Behaviors and take COVID-19 vaccination to protect oneself as well as our loved ones, family, co-workers and community.
‘Our front line workers are sacrificing everything and putting their own lives and their families at risk for the sake of saving lives of others and they need our utmost cooperation and support’, he said.
Pangnyu also appealed to all the citizens to kindly cooperate with COVID-19 Warriors in all possible ways and urged all to continue to pray and seek God’s divine intervention and heal our land sooner than later.
