Kohima, March 25 (NE): The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi in his second address to the nation over the Covid-19 pandemic situations and precautionary measures on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, said that the central government had allocated Rs 15,000 crore to strengthen the health infrastructure in India.
The fund will be used for developing health infrastructure in the country, increasing the number of beds, testing kits and even training of professionals to combat the disease. Prime Minister also announced a complete lockdown across the country for 21 days from Tuesday, March 24, 2020 midnight.

Expressing gratefulness to Hon’ble PM Shri, Narendra Modi for announcing Rs 15,000 crore package for Covid19 pandemic, Chief Minister said, it is the need of the hour to acquire medical equipments, protective gears and increase training of medical and paramedical staff, testing facilities etc.

This announcement came at a crucial time when whole nation is going through an unprecedented situation due to outbreak of COVID-19. Nagaland Government is also facing lots of criticism from the opposition bench for not having a Coronavirus test Centre for the state. The nearest designated Coronavirus test centre for Nagaland is at Guwahati, Assam.
As a state, Nagaland is putting all its effort to contain and prevent the spread of the coronavirus outbreak. Health & Family Welfare department along with the Healthcare team is at the frontline, putting up 24/7 efforts to protect the state and its people from the deadly virus. ‘We are doing our part, please help us to serve you better – stay home’ added a notification from Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom.
Nagaland will also be hoping to have Covid-19 test Centre soon, to complete the preparedness for a full fledged war against the outbreak. It is also important to note that, as per the updates from the government, so far there is no positive case reported from the state.
