Govt passing the bucks onto Raj Bhavan for its decisions; TR Zeliang on employees self-declaration form

Kohima, July 30 (NEx): The leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister, TR Zeliang lashes out at State government over employees self declaration form and said, passing the buck onto Raj Bhavan for whatever decisions the State Government takes is tantamount to admitting their inefficiency to run the affairs of the State responsibly.

Taking to social media on Wednesday, Zeliang said that the unsolicited clarifications that the State Government continues to give, including the personal remark of the Chief Minister, on why an Office Memorandum has been issued for Self Declaration by all Government employees with ties to the Naga Political groups, speaks volumes of the unstable and irresolute decision making of the Government.

Passing the buck onto Raj Bhavan for whatever decisions the State Government takes is tantamount to admitting their inefficiency to run the affairs of the State responsibly, he stated.

Also, Zeliang said that it is a wonder as to why the Government is silent on the Cabinet decision which was taken on July 03, 2020. The Hon’ble Governor as the constitutional head of the State can advise the Chief Minister, however, the final call is taken by the Chief Minister along with his Council of Ministers. As such, to blame the Hon’ble Governor for the decisions taken and passed for the citizens of the State is unethical and unprecedented.

Should they not dare to make decisions in the cabinet meetings, the government should have convened an emergency assembly session and deliberated on the matter by all the elected members.

The silence of the Chief Minister on the deliberation of the Cabinet and subsequent decisions taken is shady. Now, when it is time to own up to the orders passed on to its citizens, the government is running hither and tither to hide behind the advise of the Hon’ble Governor, added Zeliang.
