Governor Ravi Visits Mulberry Silk Plantations & Manufacturing Unit in Mokokchung

Kohima, April 13 (NEx): The Governor of Nagaland, RN Ravi on Saturday, 12th April 2021, visited the Centrally Sponsored Mulberry Silk Plantations and Manufacturing Unit at New Chungtia, Mokokchung, implemented by Samvrudi, Weaving Units and later inspected the main plantation and rearing houses for the worms and cocoons.

The Governor appreciated the entrepreneurial drive of the people behind it which has created employment opportunities for several hundred of women in the area.

Governor R N Ravi also inaugurated the building of the Government Primary School, Akuhaiqa, reconstructed by the Samvrudi.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor expressed concern at the inadequate health and education infrastructures in the area and added that the children, who are our most precious future assets, should not be made into a liability due to absence of adequate growth opportunities through access to education, health care and proper communication.
