Kohima, May 13 (NEx): The Governor of Nagaland R N Ravi, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Deputy CM Y Patton extended Eid greetings to the people of Nagaland on Thursday.
Governor R.N Ravi in his greetings message said that, ‘Eid festival is also known as the festival of breaking the fast. This festival is a religious festival celebrated worldwide by the Muslim community. It signifies the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramazan.’
‘During this festival, events such as prayers, charity, social gatherings, festive meals, gift giving etc mark the celebrations.’ The Governor urged everyone to take precautionary measures by observing COVID-19 protocols throughout the celebrations.
Taking to twitter, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio said,’ IdulFitri greetings to our Muslim brothers and sisters. I wish you all a happy and a safe Eid’.
The Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Y.Patton, greeted the Muslim community on the occasion of Id- ul – Fitr, the breaking of month long fasting. Patton said that this practice dates back many thousands of years and is an act of overcoming the self through penance and meditation.
On behalf of the state BJP legislators, the Dy.CM conveyed a very blessed Id Mubarak to the Muslim brethren and hope that they celebrate to the fullest in their respective homes keeping in mind COVID-19 SOPs and guidelines.
