A “gratitude social” for governor PB Acharya, on completion of five years in office, was held at Nagaland House in Guwahati on June 14, according to a Raj Bhavan statement on Saturday (June 15)
Acharya, in his address, recalled his first visit to Nagaland in 1963. “He said the people of the region are honest and appealed the educated youth to work for the welfare of the society and for all round development in the state.
The governor also called for change in the mindset of the people and opined that work is worship while stating no job is inferior. Skill education is the only hope for making the society stronger and economically sound, he added,” the statement read.
The protocol officer of Nagaland House, Guwahati, Apoveyi Nienu thanked the governor for his care towards the people of Nagaland and for initiating doctor, student and teacher exchange programmes and other welfare activities for the people, it informed.
