Governor Ravi expresses displeasure to NHIDCL on Kohima-Dimapur Highway progress

Kohima, December 07 (NEx): The Hon’ble Governor of Nagaland R.N. Ravi during a review meeting on the road projects in the State of Nagaland expressed serious displeasure to NHIDCL for not keeping their assurances on the progress of the Kohima-Dimapur 4-lane Highway construction.

The review meeting on the ongoing road projects was held on December 05, 2020 at Dr. Imkongliba Ao Hall, Raj Bhavan Kohima. Chief Secretary Shri J Alam, DGP Shri T John Longkumer, senior officials of the State Government and senior officials of NHIDCL were present at the review meet, informed PRO Rajbhavan, Kohima, on Monday.

The Governor was shocked and expressed serious displeasure to NHIDCL for not keeping their assurances on the progress of the Kohima-Dimapur 4-lane Highway construction. Although the project was scheduled for completion in August 2019, even after 15 months of overshooting the deadline the completion of the project is not in sight, despite the fact that the Hon’ble Minister, Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari had taken interest in it and created an office of the Regional Director, NHIDCL at Kohima for speedy execution of the work, it said.

The Hon’ble Governor further reminded the NHIDCL on how the people of Nagaland have been suffering due to lack of their interests. The PRO Raj Bhavan also mentioned that the Governor is also taking up the matter with the Minister, MoRTH in this regard.
