Dimapur, April 01 (NE): Good news for people in the country including Nagaland as Government of India (GoI) through a notification on March Thirty has issued all over India to extend driving documents and vehicle registration certificates that have expired since February 01, 2020 has been extended until June Thirty, 2020.
In a notification, the Ministry of Road Transport & Highway (MVL section), New Delhi (GoI) specifically mentioning Director of General Police (DGP), Principal Secretary/ Secretary, Department of Transport and Transport Commissioner (Nagaland among others) stating that due to current Covid19 pandemic as declared by WHO including total lockdown, many vehicles has been used for availability of essential goods/cargoes.
As it has come to the knowledge of competent authorities the various hardships faced by the transporters, it has appealed respective states including Nagaland in India for those vehicles which has expired documents such as: validity of fitness, permit (all types), driving license, registration or any other concern documents, which has expired since February one or would expire before June Thirty, to be extended as valid till June Thirty, 2020.
The enforcement authorities are advised to treat such documents valid till June Thirty as said in the notification so as to implement immediately so that the people, transporters and other organizations, which are rendering essential services should not be harassed in this difficult times, it added.
It can be said that the public of Nagaland in particular will breathe a sigh of relief for time being.
