Gandhiji’s 150th Birth Anniversary to be observed through Nai Talim Week from September 26 – October 2 by Schools and Colleges under Nagaland

Dimapur, September 27, (NE): The Government of Nagaland through a directive under Government of India, Nai Talim Gandhiji’s Experiential Education with dignity of labour will be embarked to schools and colleges.

The activities could include:

1. Students visit to a farm and participation in agricultural operations along with their teachers.

2. Students participation in plantation, water conservation and cleanliness drives in the school or community.

3. Inviting craft and occupational representatives from the neighbourhood or organising practical experience at a demonstrative site and/or personal practice based session on any local trade or occupation.

4. Similar events may be organised during the period for DIET Trainees, B. Ed Students and Lecturers.

The campaign, according to information will culminate or could be initiated with celebration of October 2 as National Nai Talim Day in all Schools and Higher Education Institutions in the country. This will give added impetus to the experiential learning process in the schools and teacher education institutions in the state.
