Kohima, December 16 (NEx): The National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) Chairman Q. Tuccu said that the Framework Agreement (FA) which was officially signed between the government of India and NSCN on August 3rd, 2015, is the meeting point for Indians and the Nagas, the Magna Corta of new relationship of the two people. We will stick and abide by it, he affirmed.

NSCN Chairman, Q. Tuccu said this while addressing the winter parliament session of Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim (GPRN) on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, where he asserted that whether it is early or delayed solution, what matters is the issue-based solution and added that the past accords could not bring solution because they were not issue-based solution. He also pointed out that the ball is in the court of GoI.

The NSCN press release said that the chairman paid homage to those who were martyred for the cause of ‘Nagalim for Christ’, and also gave his revolutionary salute to all the members of NSCN who are at the forefront of the resistance movement.

Tuccu runs back to history and reminded that NSCN is a proven Naga National organization based on how the members faced turbulent storms of the enemies’ aggression, which was also acknowledged by the then Prime Minister of India, PV Narasimha Rao by saying, ” You have proved yourselves “.

The chairman also stated that every state is the product of decision of people, and the freedom to decide their future is their inherent right. We cannot imagine a government without freedom to run it according to their sweet will and decision, he said, stating the Framework Agreement: “In matters of her own affairs as mutually agreed upon, Nagaland shall be sovereign.”

On Naga politics, Q. Tuccu stated, “The Naga Politics is about sovereign power that makes and unmakes things and laws, that will develop the Nagas materially, mentally, and spiritually; it is about rebuilding the psychology of the Nagas- young and old, male and female damaged by the bloody war; it is about rebuilding & reconnecting the damaged relationships with our neighbours, it is about building a new relationship with the Indian and Burmese people for a lasting harmonious and peaceful co-existence as unique entities; and above all, it is about rebuilding the broken faith of the Nagas through the Church”.

He also said that Nagas have been looking for their long-cherished solution, that protects their sovereign right, their future, their history, their territory, their identity, their culture, their religion, and their state. Also, he asserted that Nagas strongly oppose any kind of military solution or solution through coercion, and that they are for solution that is arrived at through mutual agreement. He reiterated that imposed solution or solution with unmandated group of people who doesn’t represent the issue of the Nagas is unacceptable to the people.

The NSCN chairman also acknowledged the contributions of Indian Prime Ministers – P.V. Narashimha Rao, Inder Kumar Gujral, H. D. Deve Gowda, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Lal Khrishna Advani, Deputy Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh and Narendra Modi, not forgetting the Naga leaders, Isak Chishi Swu and Th. Muivah, who laid down the foundation for solution to the Indo-Naga political problem.

While hopeful that the solution is not far off if it is worked out in keeping with the spirit and letter of the official Framework Agreement, he said that FA is the end result of their committed efforts.

Meanwhile in another press release, the Collective Leadership of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) wished the Naga people and the public a very happy Christmas and New Year.
