The Founder and Principal Emeritus of Tetso College, Dr. P. S. Lorin passed away at Eden Medical Center, Dimapur

Dimapur, May 31 (NEx): The Founder and Principal Emeritus of Tetso College, Dr. P. S. Lorin passed away at Eden Medical Center, Dimapur on Monday, May 31, 2021. The Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, Advisor R Khing, Naga Hoho alongwith others condole the demise of Dr. P. S. Lorin.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio said, ‘Heartfelt condolences to the family of Dr. P. S. Lorin, Founder, Chairman/Principal Emeritus of Tetso College Dimapur, founding member of Naga Peoples’ Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR) and member of Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR).’

‘In his death Naga society had lost a fatherly figure, a mentor, guide and a true son of the soil. The vacuum created will be difficult to fill. It would be befitting that we continue the legacy of public service that he has left behind, so that he will continue to live among us,’ CM Rio stated in his condolence message.

The Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland Yanthungo Patton said, saddened by the demise of Dr P.S. Lorin, Founder and Principal Emeritus of Tetso College, Dimapur and sends condolences to his family, friends and students.

Patton said Dr. Lorin will be remembered for his remarkable contribution to the field of education and that his legacy will live on.

‘I am deeply pained to learn about the demise of Dr P.S Lorin, Founder & Principal Emeritus of Tetso College, this morning in Dimapur’, the Advisor, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Sciences, R. Khing tweeted.

Khing recalled him as an educationist par excellence, a humble soul & a forthright person who stood for the truth and said that his immense contribution in the field of education and social cause for the Nagas will be fondly remembered.

The Tetso College family expressed sadness by the demise of the Principal Emeritus, and Founder of the College. ‘Words cannot express the sorrow we feel at the loss of a genuine and humble human being, an eminent scholar, and educationist. We have lost a pioneer in higher education among the Nagas, but our hope is the legacy he leaves behind,’ said the condolence message.

The Naga Hoho expressed shock and sadness by the sudden demise of Dr. P.S Lorin, Founder and Principal Emeritus of Tetso College and recalled him as a distinguished Educationist and a humble soul dedicated to the Just cause of the Naga people.

‘His dedication and contribution towards unity of Naga society as a mentor and a friend will always be remembered. Nagas have lost a very prominent personality and a great soul. The vacuum created by him will be irreparable’, the Hoho said.

The Naga Hoho conveyed deepest
condolences to the bereaved family members and prays that God Almighty grant peace and comfort to his near and dear ones.
