According to an information received here, Funeral Service to be held at 1 pm on January 31, 2020 at his residence Padumpukhuri Block 2 lane 1. Opp NRL Petrol Pump / Tata Motors.

He was a sincere, efficient bureaucrat and a visionary leader who gave the best years of his life to serve the people. I on behalf of Nagaland government extend deepest condolences to his family.”

He was one of the finest breed of bureaucrats and a politician dedicated to the service of people. May his soul rest in peace.”

The message reads, “I am deeply pained to learn of the demise of Shri. Z. Obed, IAS Retired Chief Secretary, Nagaland. The news has come as a great shock and there is an all pervading sense of loss. Shri. Z. Obed served under various capacities during the formative years of the State and the tasks performed were under the most trying times. He served as Chief Secretary from 1980-1982 and then again from 1987-1989. The people of Nagaland have lost a pioneering leader. May God grant comfort and solace to the bereaved family members at this time of great grief.”
