First time in Nagaland, Blind Football Camp at Dimapur

Dimapur, February 11 (NE): For the first time in Nagaland, a Blind Football Demo/Training Camp is to be conducted by Office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Nagaland. The organising partners are Nagaland State Disability Forum (NSDF) and Prodigals’ Home (PH), Dimapur, in collaboration with the Indian Blind Football Federation (IBFF) from February 15-16, 2020 at Dimapur.

A notification said that the two days camp will comprise of training the basic skills of the game to interested young B1 players (athletes who are totally or almost totally blind), as well as training session for coaches and referees on rules and regulations of the game and other coaching tips. A demo game with an invited team will be held on day-2 to conclude the camp. An established blind player, Indian International Gabriel, is also expected to come from Bengaluru to help train the players and play in the exhibition game as well. The details are as follows:

Date: 15th & 16th February, 2020.

Venue: Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School Ground, Riverbelt Colony, Dimapur

1. On 15th February, 2020, a brief inaugural programme will be held at 9:30 am to kick off the training/demo camp.

2. On 16th February, 2020, a Blind Football Demo game will be held at 12:30 pm followed by a closing programme to mark the conclusion of the camp.

In this regard, the organizer have invited everyone to come and be part of this first-of-its-kind event and also encouraged the young players to look forward in building the right team and competing at a professional level.
