Fire personnel avert jungle fire at Nagaland University campus

Kohima, April 10 (NE): Nagaland Fire and Emergency Services department averted jungle fire at Nagaland University Campus, Meriema, Kohima on Thursday.

The fire and emergency services on receiving a jungle fire call at 1:15 pm on April 09, 2020 from Nagaland University Campus, Meriema, mobilised a quick response team from Fire Station Kohima North and pressed into action to control the fire which was spreading fast towards University Boys Hostel and Staff Quarters. Few stretches of jungle were destroyed in the fire incident, reported the fire department, said a notification.

Timely intervention of fire personnel managed to put the fire under control and prevented from further spreading to the adjoining areas. No casualty was reported. The response team was led by OC Neiketou Sopfu and Duty Commander ASI Neitho-o Keditsu.
