Dimapur, September 14 (NEx): A timely intervention of the Fire and Emergency Service, Department, Nagaland has averted a devastating fire incident by preventing gas cylinder from explosion at Zeliang Colony, Burma Camp Dimapur, today, September 14, 2020.

Dy. SP, Fire & Emergency Services, GoN, T. Shilu Jamir informed that, on receiving a fire call at 10:26 am today, from Zeliang Colony, Burma Camp, Dimapur, Fire & Emergency Services mobilized a quick response team from Fire Station Dimapur (Central) to control the fire.

Accordingly, two Fire Tenders along with sufficient Equipments & Fire Personnel were pressed into action. Due to timely response from Fire Personnel, properties worth over INR 10 Lakhs could be salvaged and prevented the fire from spreading and also the gas cylinder from explosion, if not it would be devastating, Jamir informed.

There was no casualty, and the cause of fire is due to commercial LPG cylinder hose Leakages. The response team was led by Duty Commander ASI G. Niamlungpou Gonmei.
