Kohima, December 16 (NEx): A fire incident was reported at Arkong Ward, Opposite SBI Bazar Branch, Mokokchung yesterday, December 15, 2020 where property worth Rs. 2.85 lakhs was lost in the inferno.

Kenny Khing, R.O(E)Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES) informed that on receiving a Fire call at 02:47 pm on December 15, 2020 from Arkong Ward, Opposite SBI Bazar Branch, Mokokchung, Fire & Emergency Services mobilized a quick response team from Fire Station Mokokchung to control the fire.

Three Fire Tenders along with sufficient Equipments & Fire Personnel pressed into action and it took the Fire Team 16 Minutes to combat the Fire. However due to timely response from Fire Team, property worth Rs.2 Crore could be salvaged and prevented the fire from spreading further, Khing said.

He also informed that the cause of fire is suspected to be from leakage of LPG. The response team was led by Duty Commander ASI Meyilemba Jamir and ASI Libanthung Humtsoe.
