Existing unlock guidelines to continue in Nagaland; GoN

Nagaland Government on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 extended the existing lockdown / Unlock guidelines in all parts of the State.

Kohima, October 01 (NEx): Nagaland Government on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 extended the existing lockdown/Unlock guidelines in all parts of the State.

An order issued from the office of the Chief Secretary, GoN stated that, ‘the existing guidelines issued on August 31, 2020 with regard to the Lockdown/ Unlock in all parts of the State, shall continue to remain operative in Nagaland till further orders.’

It is pertinent to note that the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, issued Unlock 5.0 guidelines on Wednesday for opening up of more activities in areas outside the Containment Zones.

The MHA stated that the Unlock 5.0 guidelines, are based on feedback received from States and UTs, and extensive consultations held with related Central Ministries and Departments. The new guidelines came into effect from October 1, 2020, it said.

The MHA in its new guidelines has given the flexibility to the State/ UT Governments to take a decision on re-opening of schools and coaching institutions, after October 15, 2020, in a graded manner. The decision shall be taken in consultation with the respective school/ institution management, based on their assessment of the situation and subject to the conditions.
