Kohima, December 04 (NEx): The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) temporarily suspended the ongoing indefinite democratic agitation against the State government on account of the emergency presidential meeting of Six (6) federating units. ENSF stated that the indefinite agitation will resume anytime as and when the federation directs.
The ENSF President, Sepili Sangtam and Assistant General Secretary, Khomo P, informed that on account of an emergency presidential meeting of Six (6) federating units; Confederation of Chang Students’ Union (CCSU, Khaimniungan Students’ Union (KSU), Konyak Students’ Union (KSU), Phom Students’ Conference (PSC), United Sangtam Students’ Conference and Yimchunger Akheru Arih-Ako (YAA) which is scheduled to be held at ENSF Headquarter Tuensang on Saturday, December 05, 2020, the ongoing agitation has been temporarily suspended.
The federation requested all the federating units, Advisors of ENSF and former senior leaders to reach HQ, Tuensang for the presidential emergency meeting.
Meanwhile the federation expressed dismay that inspite of the agitation entering the fifth day, the government giving a cold shoulder to the demands placed by the federation only shows how concerned and has succeeded time and again in depriving the people of eastern Nagas of their rights.
The ENSF also informed that the first day of 3rd Phase of the ongoing indefinite democratic agitation called by the ENSF passed off peacefully and successfully. Locking down of District Administration offices, sub-division offices and government offices and restriction of movement of government registered vehicles by the six federating units at respective head quarters passed off peacefully. The federation extended gratitude to the six federating units for their continue support and cooperation for the cause.
ENSF further stated that all seized vehicles during the period of agitation will be in the custody of the respective federating units and shall be released only after their demands are fulfilled.
