Kohima: Dzükou Cup SASA-U19 Football League 2019 organized by Southern Angami Sports Association (SASA) kicked off on May 17 at Jakhama ground.
Gracing the inaugural function, Alemyapang Longchar appreciated SASA for organizing the tournament with a noble objectives, including nurturing young talents and creating environmental awareness.
He encouraged youngsters to grab opportunities which football world is offering in today’s context taking example from Mizoram and Manipur.
He called upon the youngsters to dream big, adding that one should have a discipline lifestyle and strong dedication to achieve one’s Goal.
SASA president Ruokuovikho Chale talked about the conviction of SASA to create more platforms for young talents under the theme Minimum Budget, Maximum Platforms.
He also expressed the desire of organization in organizing this event is much more beyond winning the Game and taking away the trophies and prizes but has vision for, health, environments, unity, brotherhood and promotion of professionalism to inbuilt in young minds.
He also expressed the organisation’s desire for players to have less expectation from organizers as far as financial matters are concerned; including tournaments at Khel, Village and area levels organizations and encourage organizers at all level to have more platforms envisioning for higher platforms rather than ending up at Village and Area Level with huge financial burdens in organizing events.
The tournament is being played in two locations – Viswema and Jakhama Ground.
