Dy. CM Y. Patton Virtually Inaugurates RCC Bridges in Zunheboto

Kohima, May 02 (NEx): The Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland, Y Patton inaugurated the Tsuyi and Tsui RCC T-Beam Bridge under Zunheboto district through a video conference from the office of Chief Engineer (Road and Bridges), Nagaland PWD on Saturday, May 1st, 2021.

The Deputy CM in a tweet said, ‘Virtually inaugurated RCC T-Beam Bridge over Tsuyi River, between Asukiqa and Pughoboto and RCC Bridge over Tsui River, between Ghathashi and Hebolimi from PWD (R&B) Office Complex Kohima. Congratulations to the people of the areas and everyone associated with the projects’.

In his address, Patton said that the two bridge projects were sanctioned by the Government of India, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways under Economic Importance scheme during August 2017 while construction works began on December 2018. He said that the completion of the two bridges was delayed due to COVID-19 lockdown last year.

Patton also said that, both the bridges are the life line of many villages and also connecting to the district headquarter. He expressed optimism that with the completion of both the bridges, the area will be economically benefited through trade and commerce.

MLA Y. Vikheho Swu acknowledged the Deputy Chief Minister for his intervention and initiatives for timely completion of the bridges despite the COVID-19 crisis. He also stated that with the completion of the bridges, it will particularly benefit the adjoining villages and the state as a whole.
