Dumper truck gutted in fire at Mokokchung

Kohima, January 08 (NEx): One Dumper (Ashok Leyland) Truck was gutted in the inferno, at Ahati, Tuli under Mokokchung district in Nagaland causing a damage of worth Rs.40 Lakhs on January 07, 2021.

Kenny Khing, R.O(E), Fire and Emergency Service Department, Government of Nagaland informed that on receiving a Fire call at 02:06 pm on January 07, 2021 from Ahati, Tuli, Fire & Emergency Services mobilized a quick response team from Fire Station Tuli to control the fire.

Accordingly, Two Fire Tenders alongwith sufficient Equipments and Fire Personnel were pressed into action to control the Dumper Truck fire breakout, Khing informed.

It took the Fire Team 40 minutes to combat the Fire. Property worth Rs.40 Lakhs was lost in the inferno. There was no casualty, he added.

The cause of fire is suspected to be from vehicle wiring short-circuit. The response team was led by Duty Commander ASI Noklangsangba, he stated.
