Dimapur, April 18 (NEx): On the backdrop of second wave of COVID-19 and the detection of new COVID-19 cases in some of the schools in Mokokchung district, the Dimapur Sümi Students’ Union (DSSU) urged the State Government to conduct online classes till the spread of COVID-19 could be contained.
In a press release, DSSU President L. Kivipu Shohe and General secretary N. Mugha Aye pointed out that the recent detection of new COVID-19 case in some of the schools in Mokokchung district has compelled the District administration to close down the schools and colleges exempting the ongoing HSLC and HSSLC exams.
Expressing strong sense of concern that it might happen in other districts of Nagaland which may worsen the situation, the DSSU urged the Government to conduct online classes till the spread of COVID-19 could be contained.
Further, the DSSU lauded the state Government for taking up swift precautionary measures to fight the second wave of COVID-19 by issuing new revised SOP. In support of the state Government’s new order, the DSSU requested the general public to follow the SOPs issued in order to avoid the spread of Virus and in constraining the increasing number of cases in the state.
DSSU also requested the state Health and Family Welfare department to speed up the survey and submit the report at the earliest through which the Government may take proper precautionary measures and make decision for Schools and colleges.
