DoSE Notifies on Pre-matric Scholarship Scheme for ST Students in Class 9 & 10

Kohima, September 29 (NEx): The Principal Director of School Education (DoSE), Shanavas C IAS, today issued a notification on Pre-matric Scholarship Scheme for Schedule Tribe (ST) students studying in class IX & X under Directorate of School Education, Government of Nagaland.

The online scholarship application of the Pre-matric Scholarship Scheme for Schedule Tribe (ST) students studying in class IX & X for the academic session 2020-2021 will go live (active) from October 1st till November 30, 2020 via common scholarship portal https://scholarship.nagaland.gov.in, it said.

The students are to submit the application form along with necessary documents to the institutions for verification. The institutions are to download the performa of Annexure-1 from the department website https://education.nagaland.gov.in and submit to the concern DEO on or before December 10, 2020. The DEO’s are also informed to submit the compiled list (Hard & Soft) to the Directorate on or before December 15, 2020.

The PD also notified that students shall apply only one State/Central sponsored scholarship at a time. Also, students and institutions should go through the guidelines in the given portal, he added.

Merit generation shall be done on the basis of previous final exam performance in case of exhausted quotas sanctioned by the ministry, it said.

Further, the Principal Director has also informed in another notification that many people with vested interests are charging excessive amount from the students for applying scholarship online and for verification of their application which is a serious offence.

The Department of School Education while appreciating some Student’s bodies across the State for being vigilant against such ill practices, once again reminded all officials and heads of the institutions to take note of it and warn people from such practices or else disciplinary action will be initiated against those who encourage such practices.
