Kohima, June 02 (NE): The Online Student Evaluation Portal of the Department of School Education, Nagaland was launched today, June 02, 2020 by Shri Menukhol John, Principal Secretary, School Education at his office chamber.

The Principal Secretary, School Education congratulated the department officers for taking the initiative of developing the online portal and requested parents and teachers to encourage students to make best use of the provision during the period of school closure.

In order to keep the children engaged in the continuous process of education during the COVID-19 lockdown period, the Department of School Education, Nagaland has launched the Tele/Radio Education Programme on May 01, 2020. Overwhelmed by the interest being shown by students, parents and teachers, the department launched the next tool of digital learning, the Online Student Evaluation Portal on June 02, 2020.

As the digital social media platforms have more influence on people, all the videos telecasted through Doordarshan are also shared with public through the Youtube channel of the department, ‘DoSE Nagaland’ and also through the Facebook page ‘School Education, Nagaland’.

The video and audio broadcast of lessons through Doordarshan and All India Radio commenced from May 01, 2020. Initially, the broadcast was done for students of classes 8 to 10 and 12 and the same for students of classes 5 to 7 commenced from June 01, 2020.

The online evaluation process for students of classes VIII to X and XII will commence from June 03, 2020 as per the schedule already notified by the department.

The launching programme was attended by Smt. Kevileno Angami, Special Secretary, School Education, Shri Shanavas C, Principal Director, School Education, Shri Wonthungo Tsopoe, Director, School Education, Smt. Asano Sekhose, Chairman, NBSE and other officers from the department.
