Kohima, January 27 (NEx): The Directorate of School Education, Government of Nagaland on Wednesday notified that all schools functioning within the state of Nagaland can resume regular classes for students of class 6th and above from February 8th, 2021, and also issued the Academic Calendar for the year.
The Principal Director, DoSE, Shanavas C IAS through a notification permitted all schools functioning within the state of Nagaland to resume regular classes for students of class 6th and above with effect from February 8th, 2021 strictly following guidelines/SOPs issued by the Government of Nagaland.
The Principal Director also issued the Academic Calendar of 2021 for strict compliance by all concerned.
Under Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, on January 21st, 2021 notified the Principal Director, DoSE about the approval of the State Government to issue notification for re-opening of schools in the State with effect from from February 8, 2021 for classes 6 to 12 and the Academic Calendar 2021.
All General Holidays notified by the Govt. of Nagaland should compulsorily be observed as State / National holidays along with 3(three) local restricted holidays. Events of national importance notified by Govt. of India shall be observed by all schools functioning within the State of Nagaland, the Principal Director notified.
Further, the notification stated that the first and third Saturdays of every month shall be utilized for class tests/co-curricular activities/life skills/social works etc. Specific schedules for the conduct of examinations shall be notified by the concerned authorities empowered to conduct the examinations, it stated.
