DNSU along with the Police seized large quantity liquor from Dimapur

Dimapur, March 02 (NE): Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) with the assistance of Police Department raided two places in Dimapur and seized 641 bottles of IMFL and 4705 bottles of different brands and sizes on Saturday, February 29, 2020.

A press release by Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU), Media Cell said, the Union on receiving complaints from individuals, monitored two separate locations and found out that the illegal sale of liquor was taking place.

Raids were carried out below fly over near railway station with the assistance of ACP ‘A’ Seyiesezo Peseyie and East PS Officer-in-Charge R K Patron and seized 641 bottles of IMFL of different brands and sizes and another raid was carried out jointly with Sub-Urban police station led by OC, Picto Achumi near Durga Mandir and seized 4705 bottles of different brands and sizes, said the release.

In this connection, FIR have been lodged in East PS and a Suo Moto FIR has been lodged at Sub-Urban PS.

DNSU also expressed shock over the rampant sale of liquor even after repeated warning by Excise and Police Department.

The Union will be conducting raids jointly with Excise and Police from time to time and urged the general public to extend its fullest cooperation. Further, defaulters will be strictly dealt with as per the law, it added.
