DNSU cautions on unauthorized price rise of commodities

Dimapur Naga Students' Union (DNSU) warned all the traders/shops owners under the jurisdiction of DMC not to indulge in any unfair/illegal/unethical practices

Dimapur, May 17 (NEx): The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) warned all the traders/shops owners under the jurisdiction of DMC not to indulge in any unfair/illegal/unethical practices such as hoarding or unauthorized increase in prices of commodities taking advantage of impending COVID-19 situation in the state.

The union also cautioned that any
shopkeepers/vendors indulging in such practices will be strictly dealt with, and urged all the traders/business houses, shop keepers to strictly comply with COVID-19 related SOPs by wearing face mask, keeping/use hand sanitizers and maintaining adequate physical social distance inside the shop.

The union expressed serious concern over the unbecoming situation where some self styled goons are not only breaking the laid down SOPs, but also assaulting and causing harm to innocent residents/shopkeepers.

The DNSU further condemned the recent incident on May 16, where a shopkeeper namely Anil Roy of Chatteshwary Colony, West Yard area was brutally beaten up at his residence and also misbehaved with his family members by two unidentified Naga Youths.

The Union appealed the law enforcement authorities to book the culprits at the earliest and reward befitting punishment.
