Dimapur, January 12 (NEx): The office of the Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) on receiving complaints from several sections of society had an overall survey of ATM booths in and around Dimapur and appealed the Banks to provide proper ATM Services to its citizens.
The DNSU in a press release stated that it was astonishing to notice majority of the ATM booths were either out of service or out of cash, and whereas ATM with availability of cash has a queue of more than 20-30 person at the time.
The Union is totally dismayed over the poor services being provided to it’s consumers, it said.
The Union further said that the students are at the receiving end since academic admissions are going on and as such, unnecessary physical and mental harassment are being meted upon it’s students on accessing ATM service.
It is to be noted that, ATM service charges are being levied upon its customers, and therefore it is the bounded duty of the Banks to provide quality service to it’s customers, the Union reiterated.
The DNSU also said that keeping in view of the pandemic outbreak, random queues outside the functional ATMs without maintaining social distancing protocol is a total breach of SOP laid down by the Government. Meanwhile, it is observed that, most ATMs does not meet the requirements of standard operating procedures of the concern banks.
Taking into account of all the prevailing inconveniences, the Union appealed the Banks to provide proper ATM Services to its citizens. Further, the Union said it will be anticipating the banks to take this humble appeal with utmost importance at the earliest for the convenience of the general public.
