Dimapur, October 27 (NE): Nagaland, today has joined hands while celebrating the much waited – festival of lights with rest of India on October 27.
Nagaland particularly has witnessed a flood in the heart of Dimapur city due to past incessant rains, mainly due to cyclonic rain in other parts of India.
Other districts has also suffered especially in Nagaland because of National Highway blockage and landslides.
But, particularly for the Hindus based at Nagaland from different parts of Nagaland – celebrated the Diwali in their respective houses. Various individuals have used the social media in highlighting their dias and other decorations being put up in their homes.
Many shops too were seen opening on Sunday – to welcome, what they called as a happy New Year inorder to get good luck and fortunes from their respective Gods during this festival.
Few places also were seen with pandals for their deities to come and be blessed.
The other highlights were few organizations, particularly from Dimapur district organizing a relief camp for those colony people to get a quick relieve through fooding and other materials.
Though crackers are banned particularly in Dimapur to avoid any mishaps, but upto the time of publishing this report – it was seen bursting of crackers in different parts of Dimapur.
Various dignitaries of the state – the Governor of Nagaland including Chief Minister and his cabinet ministers & others wish a Happy Diwali for a peace, harmony to be.
