District Hospitals to continue OPD | NHM to take charge of essential services

Kohima, April 28 (NE): The Directorate of Health and Family Welfare on April 28, 2020, through an advisory reminds all District Hospitals to continue delivery of selected services such as OPDs and other daycare services till such time COVID-19 patients are admitted.

An advisory issued by Principal Director, H&FW, Dr Vizolie Z Suokhrie said that the hospital authority are to ensure adequate measures for social distancing and triaging including barriers to prevent intermingling of patients and to avoid overcrowding in conformity with the SOPs issued from time to time.

This advisory is in continuation of the office advisory dated April, 25 2020, it added.

NHM for Delivery of Essential Services:

In a memorandum dated April 28, 2020, issued by H&FW, it stated that the NHM shall be responsible for effective delivery of essential services and to mitigate the health risks of the general population, while the Directorate continue to focus on COVID-19 management.

It also mentioned that the MD (NHM) is to personally interact with all districts and submit daily report on all KPIs and designate all officials in-charge district-wise to provide necessary information. Further, he is to ensure that on no account delivery of essential healthcare services to the general public is compromised.
