Kohima, January 17 (NEx): Tuensang Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (N) organised distribution ceremony of Wheel chair and hearing aid to physically challenged ESM and villagers at Tobu village of Mon district under Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme for the financial year 2020-21.
The PRO HQ IGAR (N) informed that the occasion was graced by the presence of village authorities, villagers and member of Assam Rifles. Wheel chair to physically challenged and Hearing aids to persons with hearing disability were handed over to the ESM, Senior Citizens and villagers of Tobu region in the presence of all local dignitaries/villagers.
The initiative was welcomed by the village authorities and all the villagers expressed heartfelt gratitude towards the Security Forces for the noble gesture and the genuine step taken by Assam Rifles for improvement of life standard of the disabled persons.
Awareness program for youth to join Indian army conducted:
Jalukie Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (North) conducted Join Indian Army Campaign at Government Higher Senior Secondary School, Peren.
An awareness lecture was conducted by the security forces for the students about the upcoming Army recruitment rally at Rangapahar military station.
The PRO also said that the students were told about the various types of entries, eligibility and documents required for the recruitment. Apart from this the students were told about other entries like NDA/CDS/OTA to join Indian army as officers. Deliberate information about the selection procedure, academic eligibility and physical standards was disseminated to the students. A total of 92 students attended the lecture.
COVID awareness and Medical Camp at Samziuram:
Assam Rifles Battalion under the aegis of IGAR (North) conducted a medical camp at Samzuiram on January 17th, 2021.
The medical team provided free medical consultancy and medicines to the villagers while also briefing them on the essentials of COVID –19 precautions, general hygiene and sanitation, the PRO said. The aim of the camp was to provide free medical treatment and consultation to the villagers of Samzuiram, in order to supplement the efforts of the Government health agencies amidst the COVID – 19 pandemic.
A total of 182 villagers benefitted from the camp, while 30 children were provided medical assistance during the camp. The medical team paid special care to reach out to the old & new born and also generated much awareness regarding COVID-19.
The parents and villagers were also briefed about various other common diseases and their preventions.
The government health agencies and villagers appreciated the efforts of security forces for conducting the event and thanked them for being the source of constant assistance in the area.
