Discover North East – A Cultural Yatra Programme held at Jalukie

(A Cultural Yatra programme at St. Xavier College Auditorium, Jalukie)

Peren, October 30 (NE): A Cultural Yatra programme was held at St. Xavier College Auditorium, Jalukie on October 29, 2019 with ADC Jalukie, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang as the Special Guest. The programme was organized by North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) in collaboration with Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

ADC Jalukie, Tinojungshi Chang while addressing the gathering said that, our country India is blessed with diverse rich culture and our identity depends on our culture. But today it’s really sad to see the youngsters being influenced by western culture and therefore lamented that because of this we are losing our rich culture which have been passed down from our forefathers. ADC Jalukie, therefore, called upon the youngsters present in the gathering to learn and respect each other’s cultural heritage and further pleaded them to rediscover and preserve their own rich culture which reflect their identity.

Special cultural dance were performed by Rongmei Chabuan Phuam Club, New Jalukie, Nataraj Sanskritik Shilpiu Samaj, Assam, Zemei Helim Ma, Old Jalukie, Hojagiri Cultural Dance, Tripura, Liangmai Dance by Tsengi Lin Group, Panthakaali, Karinkaali Aattam, Muchilottu Bhagavathy Theyyam, Jeevajwala Academy of Art, Kerela, Ujwal Kala Kendra, Sikkim.

The programme was chaired by Witingthuiliu while welcome address was proposed by Deputy Director, NEZCC, Dimapur, D. Vashum and vote of thanks was said by Principal SXCJ, Dr. Fr. Francis Cheerangal.
