Dimapur: Taxis and Autorickshaw fares revised to earlier rate

Dimapur, March 24 (NEx): The Deputy Commissioner and Chairman Regional Transport Authority, Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan IAS, through an order on Wednesday revised all the taxis and Auto rickshaws fare back to earlier rate.

The DC Dimapur issued the order in pursuance to Government of Nagaland office order, dated March 19, 2021, wherein all the vehicles are permitted to operate with 100% passenger capacity. All the taxis and Auto rickshaws will only charge as per the earlier existing rate issued on August 23, 2017, till further notice, the order stated.

Highlighting on the Operating procedure, the order said, ‘In both the private and commercial passenger vehicles, everyone including the driver, attendants, shall mandatorily wear mask all time.No passengers shall be allowed to travel without mask worn correctly’.

‘Vehicle shall not carry more than the total siting capacity and there should not be any standing passenger in the vehicle,’ it added.

‘All passenger vehicles shall mandatorily maintain a daily log book of all Travellers with the details like name, phone number and date of travel. Hand sanitizers shall be carried at all times and all passengers must sanitize their hands before boarding,’ it said.

‘The driver and attendant shall mandatorily carry appropriate disinfectants and periodically disinfect frequently touched surfaces of the vehicle such as door, window handles, seats, overhead hand grips, etc.’

The order also stated that, ‘vehicles must be washed daily and disinfected periodically. Drivers/attendants shall not assemble or gather in groups at bus/taxi/Autorickshaw stand.’

‘The Municipal/town council will ensure installation of adequate hand washing facilities – soap and running water or foot operated alcohol- based hand sanitizer at the bus/taxi/Autorickshaw stand and display adequate IEC materials (Posters/Pamphlets/flex banners).’

‘The Municipal/town council in collaboration with concerned Union /association of passenger vehicles will conduct orientation program on standard preventive measure for drivers and Travellers. Necessary technical support will be provided by District Task Force,’ it said.

The DC also said that this order is for strict adherence by all concerned and failure to comply with this order will attract penal provisions as per law.
