Dimapur, July 20 (NEx): Deputy Commissioner & Chairman DDMA Dimapur on Sunday ordered the sealing of State Bank of India (SBI) Bazar Branch Dhobinalla, Dimapur & SBI staff quarter, Block C at Bank Colony with immediate effect till further order.
DC & Chairman DDMA Dimapur, Anoop Kinchi IAS stated that, the immediate sealing of the SBI Bazar Branch and staff quarter, Block C at Bank Colony is to take effective measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Any person violating this containment measures will be liable to be prosecuted as per the provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 besides the legal action under Section 188 of the IPC, DC warned.
According to Chief Manager, SBI Bazar Branch, one State Bank of India (SBI) officer tested positive for COVID-19 in Guwahati on Friday, July 17, 2020. The officer was working in SBI Dimapur Bazar Branch and was transferred to Guwahati.
He left for Guwahati on July 12, 2020, through a hired vehicle from Dimapur. On arrival at Guwahati, he was placed under quarantine and tested negative for COVID-19 in the rapid test on July 14, 2020. But the confirmatory swap test result was said to be positive on July 17, 2020.
Since all the staff members at SBI Bazar Branch were recently in contact with the officer who tested positive for COVID-19 in Guwahati, as a precautionary measure and also to prevent the spread of the virus, Chief Manager on Saturday, July 18, 2020, informed the DC Dimapur to conduct the COVID test for all the SBI staffs at Dimapur Bazar Branch, and their family members as per protocol.
