Dimapur Police Report

Dimapur, September 5, (NE): On September 3, Dimapur Police arrested one person namely- Yanglikhum Sangtam (23 yrs), S/O- Bilise Sangtam, V/O- Phiriahi,Tuensang on charges of extortion and phone snatching from a truck in 5TH Mile, Dimapur. In this connection a case has been registered at Diphupar Police Station.

Secondly on August 25, Dimapur Police E-Patrol party at 3rd mile area, Dimapur, intercepted one motorcycle without registration number with two persons and during frisking seized (1) point 32 pistol = 01 no (2) 7.65 ammns = 25 rds (3) cash = Rs, 5610/- (five thousand six hundred ten) (4) mobile phones = 02 nos and other documents from the possession of Jakhalu Aye (S.S 2nd Lieut of NSCN-R). Further cash amounting Rupees nine thousand eight hundred sixty five and two mobile phones were recovered/seized from the possession of one Akato (43 yrs). In this connection a case has been registered at Diphupar Police Station and investigation is on.

On August 31, Dimapur Police apprehended one person namely – Inalo Yepthomi (35 yrs) 2nd Lieut. NSCN-R, V/o. Hotoi PO/PS- Niuland, P/A- Walford colony, Dimapur while he was demanding Rupees ten thousand for yearly Tax in the name of NSCN- R from Durga Mandir area, Dimapur. In this connection a case has been registered at Sub-Urban Police station for further investigation.

On August 31 at around 14:10 hrs. Dimapur Police Anti Extortion Team apprehended one person namely Tali Rocky Yimchunger (39 Yrs) SS. Captain NSCN-U S/O- Lt. Pinsukin Yim V/O- Ipunger P/S – Pungru Dist- Kiphire P/A- UNB ‘A’ Burma Camp Dimapur while collecting tax at Burma Camp. During further search the following items were seized (1) .22 Pistol alongwith Mag =01 No & (2) .22 live Ammns= 5 Nos. from his possession. In this connection a case a case has been registered at East PS and investigation is on.

On September 1, Dimapur Police Anti Extortion Team apprehended one person namely Nur Mahammad Ali (28) s/o Md Akbar,r/o Lathimari, Nagaon Assam as he was suspiciously loitering in and around the ATM booth near SBI Bazaar branch and upon further interrogation, it was revealed that he on the pretext of helping others especially senior citizens swiped the ATM cards of the victims with invalid cards with which he would fraudulently withdraw the money. Subsequently 4 (four) ATM cards were also seized from his possession. In this connection a case has been registered at West Police station for further investigation.

On September 4, Dimapur Police arrested Mrs Lakshmi Thapa (43), w/o Suman vill-gurbal, Tezpur Assam P/Add Chumoukedima for giving false FIR to the police with regard to her missing daughter of minor age whom she had deliberately relocated at another place in Dimapur. A case has been registered in Women PS for further investigation.
