Dimapur, October 03 (NEx): Dimapur police arrested three (3) persons in connection with the murder case of a truck driver which happened on the wee hours of September 22, 2020 at Supply Colony, Dimapur.
An official tweet from Dimapur police on Friday said, “Three individuals were arrested by Special Investigation Team (SIT) in a brief night operation on October 01, 2020 in connection with the recent murder case of a truck driver.’

The truck driver identified as Jitin Gogoi (31-yrs), a resident of Assam was found shot dead at Supply Colony in Dimapur on the wee hours of September 22.
Following this incident, an indefinite economic blockade was imposed from September 29, 2020 by transporters and drivers and unions of Dimapur, Lahorijan, Khatkati and Bokajan demanding safety of transporters and ex-gratia for the family of the trucker who was killed on September 22nd by unidentified gunmen in Dimapur.
The truckers bodies called off the indefinite economic blockade on Friday, October 2nd, the agitating unions in a statement said that the decision to call off the blockade was taken during a joint meeting of five unions at Lahorijan yesterday evening based on the written assurance of Dimapur Deputy Commissioner to Dimapur based transport unions that compensation will be paid, provided the innocence of the victim is unequivocally established during the course of investigation.
