Kohima, July 28 (NEx): The Director General of Police Nagaland, Shri. T. John Longkumer, IPS, congratulated Sr. SP, Kohima Kevithuto Sophie & team for the successful detection and arrest of 5 (five) hardened criminals in connection with robbery at courier office and recovery of Rs 16,61,700 (sixteen lakhs sixty one thousand and seven hundred), 2(two) small arms, 1(one) magazine and 4 (four) live rounds, extortion slips and other incriminating materials on July 26, 2020 in relation to Kohima North PS case no.0030/2020 U/S 392/34 IPC R/W 25(1A)(1B) Arms act dated July 23, 2020.
In a congratulatory note, Nagaland DGP expressed immense joy, pride and satisfaction at the tremendous work done by Kohima Police in exhibiting the investigative skills, professionalism, alacrity, dedication and devotion to duty in cracking this heinous act of robbery by an unscrupulous gang of armed miscreants in the dead of the night.
“The most remarkable aspect of the investigation was the fact that, all the accused involved in the crime and recovery of stolen property was done in less than 72 hours,” the DGP stated.
It amply demonstrates that the officers and men involved in the investigation worked tirelessly without sleep and beat exhaustion till the objectives were met, the DGP added.
The DGP further observed that, “The quality of investigation and detection of crime of Nagaland Police has been consistently on the rise and is second to none, it is indicative of increasing expertise and professionalism among the rank and file and augurs well for the future of Nagaland police”.
DGP Nagaland also directed SP Kohima to submit the list of all the officers and men involved in the investigation to PHQ, for suitable rewards and service book entries in recognition of the exemplary work done by each and every personnel involved.
