Kohima, June 03 (NE): Carrying on with the efforts to contain the deadly Coronavirus, Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton along with DC Wokha, SP Wokha, CMO Wokha, Wokha District BJP President and host of officials visited CHC Bhandari and Maratchu (Merapani Village), to take stock of the preparedness against COVID-19, particularly because of the adjoining porous border areas.
Deputy CM during his visit, interacted with staffs, officials, elders and others and took updates, while some concerns were redressed.
In his short speech, Dy. CM Y. Patton praised the collective efforts and cooperation of the general public to the guidelines and directives of the government. He also praised and acknowledge the maximum efforts rendered by the frontline workers in the fight against Coronavirus. With collective efforts and collaboration of stakeholders, this unprecedented outbreak can be defeated, added Patton.
Deputy CM provided financial assistance of Rs 1,00,000 (one lakh) to the Maratchu Village Council and Rs 50,000 each to Maratchu Students’ Union and encouraged the CSOs to serve the people in need and to help contain the spread of the virus.
