Kohima, March 31 (NE): Deputy Chief Minister Y. Patton, incharge of Home, Road and Bridges donated protective gears comprising 7000 masks and 1400 hand sanitizers each to the department of Health and Family Welfare and to the Police Headquarter on Tuesday March 31, 2020, at his official residence, Kohima.
A brief distribution programme was held before handing over the personal gears, wherein Patton appreciated the security forces and health workers for their tireless efforts and sacrifices for the citizens of the state. He stated that both the departments are doing an excellent job in compacting against Covid-19, said a press release from Deputy CM media cell.
Both the Principal Director, Dr. Vizolie Z Suokhrie and Nagaland DGP, John Longkumer IPS, thanked the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Shri. Y. Patton for his humanitarian gesture and his special attention to the frontline workers. He reiterated his appeal to the citizens to cooperate with the government for the successful implementation of the lockdown period and also urged to maintain social distancing and the various advisories issued by the state government and the department of health and family welfare form time to time.
The distribution programme was attended by the Minister incharge for Health & family welfare, Shri. Pangyu Phom, Minister for PHED Shri. Jacob Zhimomi, Minister for Higher & Technical Education, Shri. Temjen Imna Along, Minister for Soil & Water Conservation Shri. Kashiho Sangtam and host of Advisors, Home commissioner, Special Secretary (Home) ADG Law & order, Secretary Health & Family welfare and other officials from Health & Family Welfare and Home Department and media persons.
