Dept of School Education clarifies on 'Video Lessons in Pen Drive'

Kohima, August 09 (NEx): The Directorate of School Education, Government of Nagaland issued clarification in regards to the Video Lessons telecasted through Doordarshan during the months of May, June & July 2020, available through Pen Drives with a fixed cost.

The Principal Director, DoSE, Shanavas C, IAS through a clarification informed that, all Video Lessons have been made available for FREE ACCESS in YouTube Channel and Facebook Page.

All Video Lessons are also made available for FREE ACCESS through Jio TV from August 10, 2020.

Further, the department will issue Pen Drives to all Govt. Schools and no amount is collected from them, it said.

Highlighting on the fixed cost, Shanavas said, the cost of pen drives being charged is only the actual cost of the hardware and the copying charge being paid to the production company and no profit is made out.

The duration of the Video Lessons ranges from 6 hours to 35 hours per class and the capacity of Pen Drives are 16 GB, 32 GB & 64 GB. Accordingly, the cost fixed is Rs.350, Rs.480 & Rs.850, he informed.

Only those interested Individuals/ Private Schools who wish to have pen drives loaded with video lessons other than FREE OF COST access methods as mentioned above shall buy the pen drives through the portal, Shanavas added. The entire transaction is made in a complete transparent manner and public are free to know about the details any time.

The department issued the clarification with reference to the notification of August 06, 2020 on making the Video Lessons telecasted through Doordarshan during the months of May, June & July 2020 available in Pen Drives, it said.
