DENSU Condemns Rape of a Minor at Half Nagarjan, Dimapur

Dimapur, March 26 (NEx): The Dimapur Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union (DENSU) on Friday, strongly condemned the heinous crime of rape committed against a minor girl of about 5 years at Half Nagarjan, Dimapur.

The DENSU in a statement said that the Union is shocked to learn about the heinous crime of rape committed against a minor girl of about 5 years at Half Nagarjan, allegedly by one person namely Mr Kikua Marian, 55 years, S/o Late Kikangsonging, permanent resident of Tenning, Peren district and presently residing at Half Nagarjan, Dimapur.

The union strongly condemned such an evil act committed against a minor girl child. It said the accused person does not deserve to be in a society and deterrent punishment must be given to the accused. Such inhumane act must be strictly rejected by all right thinking individual and society, it added.

The union appealed the law enforcing agency to strictly investigate into the matter. It urged the hon’ble court to expedite the case proceedings so that justice is not delayed and also appealed not to grant bail to the accused on any ground.

The union asserted that if the accused is released on bail before trial or at the time of trial and if any untoward incident is occurred to the accused or the victim and family, the state shall be solely held responsible.
