Deferred Live: Nagaland university & colleges join the Northeast total shutdown today

Kohima, January 22 (NE): Nagaland colleges join the total shutdown today, January 22, to extend solidarity to the Northeastern University students’ fraternity declaring a total shutdown of all the universities and colleges in Northeast India.

According to an information, colleges in Dimapur, Kohima and other parts of the states has seen shutdown today as a solidarity, Speaking to NagalandExpress, college students raised their voice against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and express their hope in the highest court of the country to deliver justice by scrapping the unconstitutional CAA.

St Joseph College (Autonomous) Jakhama Protested against CAA at Raj Bhavan, thousands of students joining the protest to express their solidarity to the shutdown and resentment against CAA. We oppose CAA, Indigenous rights is my birth right, CAA is regional injustice, We are Anti-CAA not anti national, we reject CAA etc were some placards held during the protest.

The Nagaland University Research Scholar Forum (NURSF) to express solidarity, organised a protest against CAA at the university main gate today, said a notification.

It’s important to note that, All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU), Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) with others through a press release on Tuesday made an appeal to the colleges in Nagaland to observe the total shutdown today, January 22, 2020.
