Defending champion Centurion FC retains 20th NSF Martyr’s Memorial Trophy

Kohima, October 19 (NE): Defending champion Centurion FC retains 20th NSF Martyr’s Memorial Trophy after defeating Viswemi FC 2-0 in the 20th NSF Martyr’s Memorial Trophy 2019 final played today at Kohima local ground.

Vekhruto Resu and Yhunshalo Kemp scored a goal each for Centurion FC in the final match to defend their title in style.

Centurion FC walked home with a cash prize of two lakh rupees along with trophy and citations, the runners-up Viswemi FC received 1.20 lakh along with trophy and citations.

The two semifinalists MVYO Meriema and MTYO Medziphema received 30,000 rupees each. Player of the tournament received two wheeler while the other individual awardees received 10000 rupees each with citations.

Individual awards includes player of the tournament, best goalkeeper, best defender, best midfielder and highest scorer. The month long tournament was organized by Angami Students Union under the theme “goal for peace”.

1. Player of the tournament : Kedovikho Mekro (3)

2. Best Custodian : Medophrezo Kezieo) (Centurion FC)

3. Best defender : Nikatu Assumi (Centurion FC)

4. Highest scorer : Vizotuolie Lhousi with 9 goals (MVYO Meriema)

5. Best Mid-fielder : Visalie Mezhü of MTYO Medziphema
