Kohima, July 27 (NEx): Death of 5 COVID positive patients in Nagaland very unfortunate, said Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio while interacting with media personnel after State cabinet meets at Civil Secretariat, Kohima today.
Answering on increase in COVID-19 positive cases in Nagaland, CM Rio said that, it is not happening in our State alone but all over the world. Chief Minister felt that, the citizen’s immunity system is good, though there are many postive cases, most of them are mild with asymptomatic cases. It’s very unfortunate that five COVID-19 positive patients have died, which includes the two from Assam.
Highlighting on High Powered Committee decision, CM Rio said that the district department have been empowered to take necessary measures on lockdown, containment zones on wards and colonies and other measures to stop the spread of the virus. Chief Minister also informed that he had directed Chief Secretary and Director General of Police to extend all support to the districts.
Expressing confidence on frontline workers, Chief Minister said, our frontliners are working very hard and things are going fine in the State. CM Rio also expressed gratitude to frontline workers, churches, Tribal Hoho, Civil Societies.
Chief Minister also made an appeal to every citizen to follow SOPs, social distancing, hygiene and wear masks.
