Kohima, July 12 (NEx): A Coffee Bar called “Steaming Mugs”- set up by Department of Land Resources was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Peren, Sentiwapang Aier NCS in the presence of dignitaries and officials from Agri-Allied Department at the office of the District Project Officer, Jalukie under Peren District on July 12th, 2021.
The DC applauded the Department for coming up with such an incredible idea. He advised that, prior to taking up any plantation, one should clearly understand the pros and cons and consult the nodal department for guidance and support.
The DC encouraged the Department to consistently work for the promotion of coffee and also create avenue for market linkages. He also uregd the coffee entrepreneurs of Peren to stay positive and look at the brighter side of it.
Later, the DC along with other officials visited the Permaculture garden at the office premises and requested the department to come up with 2 models of Permaculture garden design at DC Bungalow, Peren.
Meanwhile, DPO, Alemla Aier shared a brief overview about the promotion and status of coffee plantation in the state as well as in the district. She also highlighted about the scope and benefit of coffee plantation.
